Degumming
Consumption of Degumming and deacidification section
Total recovery rate of oil depends on W value, and according to the following formula to calculate.
When W value ≤3%, oil loss=0.3+(1.25 x W)
When W value > 3%, oil loss=1.35 x W
When do the second alkali refining, the above loss will rise about 0.3%, and W value is equal to the MIU (moisture, mechanical impurities, unsaponifiable matter), free fatty-acid and non-oil material.
A.Continuous hydration degumming process:
Hydration degumming process means to make the colloidal impurities swollen and agglomerated ,and precipitated from the oil to separate them from the oil,utilize s the hydrophilic properties of peptizing impurities impurities such as phospholipids in crude oil,though adding into a certain amount of hot water and controlling the related conditions.Precipitated gum is called oil foot, can be prepared lecithin after drying.Degumming oil can be considered as food and goods,of which edibility and storage have been improved significantly, and significantly benefit to the finishing process. The process is simple and stable, is suitable for the production of oil.The process is simple but can make oil quality stable, suitable for the production of public raw oil.
B.Special degumming:
The technology is specially developed to meet the demands of physical refining of vegetable oil.Adding small quantity of acid or dilute base to the vegetable oil,strictly control the corresponding to separate out the hydrated gum and un-hydrated gum.Gum level in oil should be controlled to suitable level for downstream processing.

Deacidification
A. Alkali refining process for deacidification
The free fatty acid in the oil is neutralized by alkali liquor, and the generated soap (fatty acid salt) can adsorb some other impurities, such as solid particles, protein, colloid, pigment, etc.,and then separate it from the oil.
B. Distillation deacidification process
Distillation deacidification method is called physical refining conduct steam distillation under high temperature and high vacuum,making the free fatty acids and low molecular substances discharged together with steam,which utilize that the relative volatility of edible oil (triglycerides) and free fatty acids is different.This method is suitable for high acid oil, especially for low colloid oil refining, including coconut oil, palm oil, animal fat etc..
